Each cloth measures 20 x 17 cm with variances of +/- 2 mm.
Our products are manufactured in Germany and packaged in Canada.
The name “Swedish dishcloth” was adopted by North Americans to describe this traditionally Swedish dishcloth. They were invented in Sweden are now manufactured in Germany.
Traditional dishcloths are generally made from microfiber (plastic) or cotton. These materials are good for cleaning, but they aren’t great at releasing liquid and dirt. That’s why your cloth is heavy and damp even after being wrung out, and that’s also how odours have the chance to develop and grow.
Our cloths are made from wood cellulose and cotton fibers that function like a sponge and cloth. They absorb and quickly release liquid, thus allowing them to dry quickly and keep bad odours at bay.
There are many different ways to effectively wash your dishcloth.
MICROWAVE: For a quick refresh, place your wet cloth in the microwave for 60 to 90 seconds. Allow the cloth to cool before touching. Note: Never microwave a dry cloth. This is a fire hazard.
DISHWASHER: This is our favourite method! Place your cloth on the top rack of your dishwasher. When the cleaning cycle is complete, rinse and lay flat to dry.
WASHING MACHINE: Our dishcloths are machine washable. Lay flat to air dry. Note: Fabric softeners will decrease absorbency.
BOIL: Our cloths are resistant to bad odours, but these can still develop if left in a wet environment. The water in washing machines may not be hot enough to eliminate bad odours entirely, espicially if you use cold. If your cloth develops a bad odour, try boiling it for 2 minutes, then lay flat to air dry.
Rinse thoroughly and lay flat to dry. If you accidentally put it through the dryer you will get a mini cloth. But don't worry it expand again when damp.
Our cloths are durable and intended to be used repeatedly. Many people opt for using a new cloth after two to three months, but this is a personal choice—you may feel that your cloth still has lots of life left in it. When you feel like your cloth has reached the end of its life, throw it out. Our cloths are made of natural materials and will decompose over time.
